About Our Coalition

Who We Are

In January of 2019 Tumwater HOPES became one of 80 Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) coalitions in the State of Washington. Tumwater HOPES is a local, community-based coalition with community-based solutions that believes a comprehensive, collaborative approach is best when solving a problem. Therefore youth substance use is tackled from a variety of angles.

Alone we can do so little;
together we can do so much

What We Do

The Coalition meets once a month to learn, share and problem solve the challenges of youth substance use and youth mental health concerns. In addition to directing prevention funding for the State we also work to engage the larger community in prevention activities. We aim to increase what is protecting our youth while figuring out how to decrease their risks.

The Healthy Youth Survey provides important survey results about the health of adolescents in Washington and is used to guide policy and programs that serve youth.
